Yesterday, the South Fork Wind Farm achieved first power generation from its first wind turbine. 11 more turbines are expected to be installed between the end of the year and early 2024. Couch White partner Len Singer played an integral role as legal counsel to this project and successfully obtained the New York State permits for the construction to begin in February 2022. This will be the first utility scale offshore wind farm in federal waters in the U.S. and is a historic step toward New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act Goals.
