Couch White attorney, Lou Bianchi, spoke on a panel at Albany Medical College’s Annual Alumni Association Job Forum to the Class of 2024 Physician Assistant students about entry to practice. Lou provided general information on what the PA students should be mindful of when signing contracts with future employers. Lou discussed non-compete covenants and non-solicitation covenants; insurance policies, including claims-made policies, tail insurance coverage, and occurrence policies to protect PA students against malpractice claims; and important things to look for when negotiating signing bonuses, loan repayments, continuing medical education and licensing fees. Lou left the PA students with a better understanding of the legal jargon in employment contracts and feeling more prepared for this next step in their careers.
