Alliance Dairies commenced injecting renewable natural gas (RNG) into a pipeline of the Peoples Gas System. Peter Funk, of counsel to Couch White, played an integral role as legal counsel to Alliance by handling legal issues and negotiating and participating in drafting the necessary agreements. The diary farm operates a digester which converts cow manure into biogas which is then conditioned into RNG to be compatible with the natural gas in the utility pipeline. Alliance is participating in the California ERU/ARB offsets and GHG reduction scheme which provides financial incentives for the project.
