LIVING IN THE CAPITAL REGION

New York's Capital Region is a great place to work, but it's also a great place to live, play and raise a family.

Capital Region Lifestyle

New York's Capital Region is a great place to work, but it is also a great place to live, play and raise a family. Our offices are located in New York State's Capital Region near historic Saratoga and a short distance from New York City, Boston, Montreal and the Adirondack State Park. Our region is known for its rich culture, year round attractions and natural beauty.

Residents of the Capital Region take advantage of a wide variety of leisure time activities. Surrounded by four mountain ranges, the Adirondacks, Catskills, Berkshires and Green Mountains, outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the ability to ski, camp, hike, fish, and boat all within a short drive. For sporting enthusiasts, the Capital Region is home to the Tri-City Valley Cats Professional baseball team and a variety of collegiate events including RPI and Union College hockey and Siena basketball.

The summer months are an especially exciting time in the Capital Region, with thoroughbred racing at the Saratoga Racetrack and polo matches at the Saratoga Polo Club.

The Arts in the Capital Region

The Capital Region is alive with the performing and visual arts. While supporting two local symphonies, this area is also the summer home to both the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The Times Union Center draws sell-out crowds from throughout the northeast for headliners including Janet Jackson, Eric Clapton and U2. The Saratoga Performing Arts Center hosts the H.O.R.D.E. Festival, blues and jazz festivals featuring top recording artists, and special events featuring artists ranging from Aretha Franklin to Dave Matthews Band. Dorian Records frequently records classical music albums at the Troy Music Hall, considered to be one of the most acoustically perfect theaters in the world. Performing arts and visual arts and history is an important part of life in the Capital Region. The Palace Theatre in Albany, Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady, and Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany are just a few of the local spots to catch a show. In the summer, take in an outdoor production at the Park Playhouse in Albany's Washington Park.
