Mr. Loughney is a member of the Firm’s Energy and Environmental practice groups. For more than 25 years, he has concentrated on energy-related matters and regularly appears before the State of New York Public Service Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Bob also has represented dozens of clients throughout the nation in contract negotiations involving energy issues, including interconnection, operating and energy supply agreements.

Bob also counsels clients regarding on-site generation and energy conservation projects, including how to obtain state and federal aid in furtherance of such projects, as well as the procurement of renewable energy credits and other “green” attributes. He is well-versed with respect to deregulated energy markets and regularly represents clients in proceedings at the New York Independent System Operator and the FERC. He also has represented electricity and natural gas buying groups in procuring physical and financial price hedging instruments.

Bob was named a 2010 Super Lawyer in the New York Super Lawyers Upstate Edition for Energy & Natural Resources. Bob often speaks as an expert on energy-related issues at national conferences. He also appears regularly in major contested matters before regulatory bodies.
