Mr. Lang is a member of the Firm’s Energy and Environmental practice groups. Kevin appears on behalf of his clients before federal and state regulators, the New York Independent System Operator, and federal and state courts. He assists clients in evaluating energy procurement options, generation development and siting, asset divestiture and acquisition, and other commercial transactions. He also represents clients on a variety of commercial and civil litigation matters.

Kevin’s present clients include the City of New York, State University of New York, numerous Fortune 500 companies, generation developers, and other individuals and companies participating in the energy markets. He has represented public utilities, interstate natural gas pipelines, and telecommunications companies on real property taxation and related matters. He has successfully represented insurance companies and commercial clients on construction, employment, contract, products liability, and commercial disputes and other matters and tried cases in both federal and state courts.

Prior to joining Couch White, Kevin worked for the New York State Department of Public Service as a Managing Attorney and before that, an Assistant Counsel. While with the agency, he successfully defended the New York Public Service Commission in court challenges to Commission decisions, led staff teams in and litigated numerous rate cases, was instrumental in maximizing the value received by New York ratepayers from the divestiture of the New York public utilities’ nuclear generating facilities, and routinely advised the Commission on policy and other issues.
